Patrick Fulgham is gracing the Mr. Olympia Mens Physique Showdown stage for the Second time this year. The show that qualified him for the showdown was the Titan Grand Prix Pro in 2016. Below are some questions that Patrick Personally answered for Men’s Physique News in our Olympia 2016 Series.
What’s the hardest aspect of contest-prep for you heading into the O?
The most challenging aspect of contest-prep for me has always been staying away from sweets! I have the biggest sweet tooth out of anyone I personally know. On-prep, off-prep, it doesn’t matter. Cheesecake, Julian Pies, Sour Patch Kids, and all types of chocolate calls my name all day, everyday.
Other than that, I actually truly enjoy the structure behind following a regimen, eating every two to three hours, and watching how the body transforms. This is astonishing to me every time! It keeps me driven, knowing that I’ll never be perfect, yet still strive for perfection!
What advice can you give to anyone out there that wants to step into the sport?
Have fun, smile through it all, and know what you’re getting involved in. It’s a competition, which means that there are others out there who’s primary goal is to defeat you. Knowing this, you’re there to (obviously) be your best, but also WIN!
Are you coached or do you coach yourself?
Kim Oddo is my coach, and he is like a big brother/father-figure to me. He gives it to us straight, and is critical on us because he truly cares about how we look, how we perform, and cares about our overall health and longevity in the sport.
Do prefer to train alone or do you have a training partner?
I, personally love training alone! I’m able to solely focus on getting the job done! It allows me time to spend praying and utilizing the gym as my playground! This is the time invested where I can see tangible results per the effort I put in.
Is there a message you would like to say to your fans and/or followers?
Just like anything in life worth doing… Give it 100%, and regardless of the results/outcome, you will undoubtedly feel great about the effort and time invested.
Whats the best place for your fans to find you and keep up to date with you?
